Help Tom Afford Surgery

Hello, 
My name is Kathie ,  my husband is in urgent need of a double hernia surgery.  After an already finanically and emotionally draining year on the family, due to other medical struggles, we are unable to afford it without help. 

3 years ago my husband, Tom developed Frozen Shoulder and we decided to have manipulation surgery to free his arm.  The night before the surgery his primary doctor called us with his blood results concerned that his white blood cell count was 47,000.  The Doctor thought it was most likley cancer and referred him to a hemotologist.  After much testing it was determined that he had a type of leukemia (CLL).  Since there were no other symptoms the Doctor just wanted to wait and do bi-monthly blood checkups.  For about a year we did this and his white blood cell count continued to climb.  Then he was diagnosed with a double hernia and we scheduled a surgery to repair that.  Once again the night before his surgery he came home with a high fever, nausea and not feeling well at all.  We went to the hospital the following morning for his surgery but the Doctor didn't feel comfortable not knowing why he was running a fever.  After several weeks of visiting many doctors it was finally determined that he now had stage 4  Lymphoma.  Now we were looking at 6 to 8 months of chemotherapy.  He started his chemo treatments in 2013.  He continued to work his construction business for the 6 months of treatment even though his weight went down to 135lbs. At the end of his 6 months of treatment his Doctor determined he was in remission.   During that time we also had 2 extensive remodel jobs that we had worked on and close to the end of the job, the contractors failed to pay the final amounts due.  These 2 jobs totaled a $40,000 loss to us.  This completely wiped out our savings.  We have been able to slowly dig our way out, but only to the point of meeting our monthly obligations.Now that he is strong enough to have the needed double hernia surgery we are  short of funds to get us through the recovery time of 4 to 6 weeks.  The $5000 would allow us to do that.  To say the least it was a very challenging 3 years for all of us, we had to pull together and fight through this while somehow making the house payment each month. I cannot tell you how grateful we would be for even the slightest form of contribution. Anything helps, more than you know.
