Update: Tokyo has healed great from her TPLO surgery but recently tore her ACL on her other leg (right) and is in need of another surgery. Any donations you can make would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your support
Hi Fam, my puppy Tokyos life was flipped upside-down when she tore her ACL (a ligament in her knee) about two weeks ago while playing at the dog park. She is in need of surgery ASAP. I first met Tokyo when volunteering to transport a few dogs for Mutt Scouts Rescue from San Diego to Los Angeles. The whole entire 2.5 hours she laid in my lap. Thirty minutes after dropping her off, I got a call telling me she didn't get along with her fosters cat and asked if I could foster her. Without a second thought I went and picked her up and a month later signed her adoption papers. Ever since there hasn't been a dull moment with her. From Snuggles to mountains and beaches to dog parks, it's been nothing but adventure. She is currently taking pain medication and anti-inflammatories, I was hoping she'd get better but its been two weeks now with no improvement. I have to have her lay while she eats and carry her out to go potty and right back in. Her life has completely changed and it drives me crazy to have to ask her to not be her wild, happy and spontaneous self. We are at a race against time because there is a 50% chance that she will tear her ACL on her other leg too (meaning another surgery, more money and more time I have to keep her from usual daily routine/activities). Aside from surgery she can potentially need therapy, depending on her recovery. Everyone who knows me, knows how much I care for and the love I have for dogs (animals in general) but what Tokyo means to me is on another level. I started this Go Fund Me in hopes of getting the help we need for her surgery/recovery, so she can go back to playing with her friends at the park, hiking every other mountain in California and bringing sandy paws back home. Whether its a donation or share, everything helps and is appreciated.
PS. Any money that doesn't get used for Tokyos recovery will be donated to another pup that's in need of surgery.
Thank you,
