tokenabc fundraiser

Greetings one and all,

Please allow me to introduce myself, my nickname is tokenabc (token angry black chick). I am trying to move back to Texas after a 7-year run in Birmingham. Since I have been here, I have earned my MPH (Master of Public Health, Health Behavior). I am now wanting to head back to Texas because I have positive support back home. I also want to get my DrPH (Doctorate in Public Health) to advocate for others that MENTAL is part of everyone’s OVERALL health. I want to speak for those that have struggled to be heard regardless of their diagnosis. I intend to fight for those that have visible/invisible disabilities, regardless of race or ethnic background. My aunt Bisi used to tell us that it takes a village to navigate this life. I would amend that it takes a village of positive support. I want to advocate for and educate health care providers the difference between chronic and acute patients. I want to educate patients and their villagers to advocate for themselves. I also want to figure out what lessons that we can learn from COVID-19.

While I was here, I was diagnosed with Seronegative Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA), Osteoarthritis (OA), as well as other functional limitations. I am using this platform to try and raise funds for movers and storage until I can find a job/apartment. I have a number of interviews already scheduled so it’s just a matter of waiting.

My goal is to reach $2500.00 to cover the cost of moving and storage fees.
