Mikee Kirstein was born with AHC which stands for Alternating Hemiplegia of Childhood. AHC is a rare neurological disorder in which repeated, transient attacks of hemiplegia occur to the body. Which causes paralysis, this can last minutes or up to hours. Sometimes multiple times of a day. If you know the Kirstein Family, you know Mikee's story. You know what this family has been through. Years of trips to Oregon and Seattle for hospital visits. Most recently Mikee was taken to the hospital for being unresponsive, and his oxygen levels were low. He has been in the Sacred Heart Children's Hopsital since Friday, February 2nd. He was released the night of February 6th. Doctor after doctor are working hard on figuring out what caused this, and what they can do to improve. They have his doctors from Oregon working on this as well. But right now they do not know what is going on with Mikee. Mikee was sent home with the recommendation that the family gets in touch will pediatric Hospice, which is an organization that helps very challenging medical conditions in kids to help navigate upcoming doctors appointments, medical need, and to help Mikee and his family feel comfortable at home.

The Kirstein family will be heading to the Dorenbechers Children's Hospital located in Portland, Oregon in about 3 months or so.

The doctors believe he needs to be transported and seen by a Doctor from Duke University. This doctor specializes in AHC and is the only one in the country that would be able to help out Mikee. Duke is in North Carolina, which is extremely far for the family to travel to from Spokane. The Kirstein Family needs help to get Mikee to see this specialist.

Heidi and Andy also wants to let everyone know that every penny donated will be going to Mikee and all other expenses needed to help get them to the resources they need to give Mikee the help he needs. They would also like to say how much they appreciate this and all the love and support you are providing for their family.
