Togo School Project

Dear family and friends,
Recently my son, Yousuf, told me about Ibrahim, a friend from Togo, who converted to Islam. Upon converting to Islam, he enrolled at Yousuf’s school (Darul Uloom Zakariyya) in South Africa and became a hafiz (a person who has memorized the Quran) in a mere six months. He returned to Togo and started a hifz school (a school for memorization of the Quran). The community did not have a hifz school and now approx. 200 students are enrolled. They are currently renting a small property and have outgrown the current accommodation.. Some days the students do not have food to eat. Despite these difficult circumstances, they patiently persevere to fulfil their unwavering intention of memorizing the entire Quran.
Since my diagnosis of cancer, I have been searching for a worthwhile cause to support that will leave an impact on the world and make it a better place. I have decided to support Ibrahim’s noble cause in raising money to purchase land to build a school. Once the land is obtained, he will work to secure funds for construction.
