Did you know? About 285 million people are visually impaired worldwide; 39 million of them are blind. 90% of the worlds visually impaired live in developing countries.
The Oath of Giving (TOGO) is partnering with the St. Lucia Blind Welfare Association (SLBWA) and BodyHoliday to raise funds to purchase a Potec PRK-8000 Auto Refractor/Keratometer. This will help to diagnose cataracts at an early stage to prevent vision loss. The ability to offer this service will also help to create an additional revenue stream that will aid the Association's self-sustainability.
The Oath of Giving (TOGO) is a non profit organization that bridges the gap between communities, local and abroad, through Voluntourism. TOGO plans to be in Saint Lucia the first week of August and your donation to this cause will help provide much needed resources for SLBWA to continue their mission.
SLBWA's mission is to provide education and vocational training, employment, and also assist generally with the provision of social and other services for blind and visually impaired people. The Association is a dynamic organization offering diversified services directed towards the special needs of persons who are afflicted with blindness, low vision or other forms of visual impairment in Saint Lucia.
