Together for Tristan

Tim and Ashley welcomed Tristan into the world in April of 2016. Right from birth Tristan has had a tough road, as doctors worked to figure out what was wrong. After 2 hospital visits, one of the doctors at Strong decided to test Tristan for CGD "just to rule it out". Sure enough, it came back positive, and there was finally an answer. Tristan was  diagnosed with CGD (Chronic Granulomatous Disease) in December of 2016. CGD is a rare disease that affects 1 in 250,000 births in the U.S. each year. The only potential cure is a stem cell/bone marrow transplant.

One Tuesday, June 6th, Tim, Ashley and Tristan met with the transplant team at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. On Thursday, June 8th, they got the call that will forever change their life. Through the bone marrow transplant network, a perfect match for Tristan had been found, and the donor said YES! 

Tristan will begin the stem cell/bone marrow transplant process on July 17th, 2017 at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. He'll need chemotherapy to kill off his old immune system, and then can begin the transplant process. Ashley and Tristan will be in Philly for 4 months while Tim travels back and forth. Tristan will have to travel back and forth the first few years after the transplant to see his doctors, and will have follow ups annually for the rest of his life. 

There's so many people that have asked how they can help, knowing that Tim and Ashley would never ask, or expect anything.  All proceeds raised will go directly to the family and Tristan to help with expenses. Outside of medical bills, which can be overwhelming by themselves, Tim will be commuting back and forth to Philly, to be there for Ashley and Tristan.
