Let me start by introducing Carol. Carol is my 44 year old niece. She's married to a very supportive man. Also a proud mom of an amazing and smart 8 year old son.
As many of you have become aware, my niece Carol was recently diagnosed with breast cancer stage 2. After learning about the news and her diagnosis her life changed in a matter of seconds. She had only a few weeks to prepare before going into surgery for a double mastectomy and reconstruction. This was a major surgery that has left Carol for many weeks to recover. Following her surgery will begin the chemotherapy treatments. That said, Carol will not be able to continue working for a long while. Recovery will take many months and over a year for her to bounce back. As for medical insurance, fortunately she is covered under her husband's. However, the co-pays will not be minimal in this case. Therefore, I'm asking for your help.
Many friends and family have been asking how they can help. That's when GoFundMe came to mind. It's an easy and very safe way to make donations in these types of situations. I have done it in the past for many coworkers, students, friends and others in need. Carol has always been very proactive as well when it came to donating and other fundraisers for similar causes. She has always been there for friends and family when they needed support. Now it's time to pay it forward for Carol. I'm sure any amount that we can provide will greatly help alleviate their financial stress that they have begun to experience. It's a long road ahead of them and a big financial burden.
In all, Carol deserves the world! She's an amazing woman that has always looked after others before even thinking of herself. It's her nature. She's a social gatherer, a leader, a great friend! She's the most loving mom, daughter, wife, sister, and friend you could ever have. If you know Carol you know how compassionate she is. But she's also the most courageous woman I know. She is proving it to herself in this challenging time of her life. However, no matter how big this challenge comes into her life, she will beat this and we will all stand together by Carol.
