Together with Tank
Donation protected
Hi everyone! My name is Nicole and as most of you know, I found Tank at the 76 gas station in Corona on August 7th, bone on bone and dehydrated. With the help of Jacquie, Tank was taken to the Corona Animal Shelter. It is believed that Tank was used as a bait dog due to some of his teeth that have been filed down and others that have been pulled. Typically with bait dogs in shelters, they are most likely to get adopted and used as bait again. When Tank became available for adoption on August 14th, I was there at 10 AM to fill out paperwork in hopes of bringing him home that day. That wasn’t the case because he wasn’t neutered and due to him being a puppy and the nature of his breed, the shelter kept him in the kennel because he liked to jump. Knowing how much Tank was kennel stressed I was able to reach out to a local vet hospital (THANK YOU Animal Hospital of Eagle Glen) to get him neutered five days ahead of schedule so I could bring him home.
It is with no doubt that this dog was meant to be a part of our family for his foster journey! He is so gentle, playful, he is great with our one-year-old daughter, there is no such thing as personal space, and he loves to love and be loved. Overall has been a very positive experience for Tank (and me) to be here with us!
Unfortunately, when I brought him home, he started limping on his right back leg. I took him to the vet (9/7/23) and they proceeded with x-rays and found that both his back knees are fractured and to add on top of his leg issues, his mouth has exposed roots and some teeth that are completely decayed.
This is where Tank needs the help of the community… He needs to have TPLO surgery on both his back legs and he will need to have all his teeth removed/roots extracted before an infection develops. Due to the cost of both surgeries and the extensive dental work he will need to have, I am reaching out and asking for donations towards this sweet boy's road to recovery. Anything helps! This is a huge unexpected expense that has come up and my only wish for this sweet boy is to give him the freedom to run and play like he wants to do every day!
