Update as of 10/10/2024: Urgent

Thanks to the support of volunteers, we have a strong system in place with supplies coming in and out, and have been able to supply much of the mountain communities around us. In our effort to reach and supply these mountain communities and surrounding areas with basic needs, we have discovered numerous people living in tents, cars and in the ruins of their devastated homes. This is an urgent and dire need especially as the weather is turning cold and winter is upon us. We have recently gotten access to small prefab, transportable homes at cost. Our goal is to provide as many of these homes as we possibly can to these displaced families and is the focus and priority of this fundraiser. The cost of these homes will be between $8K-$10K and that includes transporting them here. They are self contained and have plumbing as well as HVAC and can be run by generators, if need be. Many of these mountain communities have been given the very optimistic date of December for restored power. We have shut down business as usual at Ridgeline Heating and Cooling because we feel it is our God-given charge to support those around us and those as far as we can reach. We know many states have been devastated by Helene and Milton and our hearts go out to all those suffering. We have a duty to our area which is Chimney Rock, Lake Lure, Black Mountain, Swannanoa, and all the surrounding towns and communities. Would you please consider supporting our mission of housing and taking care of the needs of those whom have lost the most. We have a huge task ahead of us.

Who we are:

We are Ridgeline Heating and Cooling in the heart of Bills Creek, Lake Lure, NC. Owner, Andrew Veigel and his wife Marti moved to this mountain community to be with and support family about 4 years ago. In the last two years Andrew has started Ridgeline Heating and Cooling with his brother in law, Charlie Moore. Their love of people and community has made this start up gain traction. On September 27th our lives were suddenly and drastically changed. As you know, our area has been devastated by the recent hurricane Helene. Our community has been devastated. We immediately set up a distribution hub at our business and haunted all HVAC jobs. We have grown into a hub that supplies the needs of individuals, families, other relief hubs as well as teams that deploy out to serve the community.

Thanks to Spokes of Hope our supply chain has been far reaching and thanks to Just the Crumbs we have been able to feed 100's and 100's of people daily. Our mission is to restore hope, restore homes, and restore community. Our trust is in God as we ask for His help to guide our efforts.
