Together We Make Dreams Come True

Donation protected
We end up in places we never imagine. A couple of months ago, I was a mama trying to help my daughter pursue her dreams.  I had a plan when we moved to LA from Charlotte, but plans don't always work out the way we want them to. But between our plans and the reality of our situation, God's love carries us.

I was asking for work and permanent housing when we met Daria. She pulled over to talk to us, and during our conversation, she hired my daughter to be in her short film. She wrote about it on Instagram. Please read her words below, and then consider helping us with shelter, food, and a deposit to rent a car so I can begin driving with uber or lyft.

I daydream a lot. (Caution: It's what happens after one dream comes true.) It wasn't too long after @marthamihalick acquired THIS IS IT that I dreamed up the idea for a short film to present at the THIS IS IT book launch. After filmmaker @plascu took on the project, we started searching for our dancing heroine. I was driving when I saw her. Her hair. Her smile. Her eyebrows. I saw all of her in one glance. Her mama stood next to her. She was holding a sign that read: HOMELESS. I turned my car around, pulled over, illegally parked, and walked towards them. I was so nervous. I didn't have a plan as to what I was going to say, but as I approached her, I noticed her mama was wearing a hometown #NC #panthers t-shirt, and I told her I was a fan, so we Cam Dabbed together. We laughed at the awkwardness of our introduction to each other. Then I felt little arms hug me around my waist like she knew me before we met. Then I told her my name, and she told me hers. I told her about my dream film, and how she reminded me of the dancer in my book. And that's when she told me she was an actor who dreamed of being a star. So I asked her if I could hire her to be in my film, and that's when her mama cried, and then I cried, and then we took a selfie. Today, I celebrate the goodness of God, and the gift he gives us to dream! If you live in the Los Angeles area, and know of permanent shelter for this mama and daughter, please DM me ASAP or email me at [email redacted]. Please share, repost, and tweet. Let's help them find a home. #together #dreamscometrue #thisisittheprologue #comingsoon #losangeles #actor
