11-year-old Savannah was diagnosed with bone cancer called Osteosarcoma in October 2022.
Our little firecracker Savannah (originally from New York City) decided to visit her Grandparents and family in Ontario, Canada, for the summer. She quickly fell in love with Canada as she spent her days swimming and fishing. At the end of the summer, she decided she didn't want to leave and wanted to continue living with her GiGi (Grandma) Gail, Grandpa John and Mother Brittany and go to school in Bancroft, Ontario. In August, a large lump began to develop on Savannah's right leg, making it difficult for her to walk; what we thought was a very tight muscle turned into everyone's worst nightmare, Osteosarcoma Cancer. Savannah completed several tests at Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto and was diagnosed by the Sick Kids Team. Savannah has a long road ahead of her but still amazingly keeps a cheerful and happy disposition, even though she spends 8-10 hours a day in the hospital. Savannah will likely begin Chemo next week for 8 months, with a major operation at the 4 month mark to remove the growth in her leg and replace the gap with the bone from her other leg. Any donation possible will help the family, as Sick Kids hospital is a 3.5-hour drive from where they live. Gas, travel, parking, and medications are already adding up, so any donation, big or small, will help assist my family with the financial burden of this traumatic event.
This fundraiser has been created by her Aunt Christie and Uncle Dylan.
