Help The Herbivorous Butcher Recover After Fire Damage
On May 14th, a fire broke out above our kitchen at The Herbivorous Butcher, causing significant damage to our beloved space. The fire originated in the ceiling between units and quickly escalated, requiring the fire department to flood the kitchen in order to contain it. While we’re incredibly grateful that no one was hurt, the aftermath has left our facility in a devastating state.
Right now, we’re still learning the full extent of the damage. The insurance company is on-site today, and we’re doing everything we can to assess what can be salvaged, what needs rebuilding, and how long recovery might take. Unfortunately, the kitchen is currently unusable, and all operations—including our storefront and delivery platforms—are temporarily shut down.
We’re launching this GoFundMe with an initial goal of $100,000 to help us begin the long process of cleanup, repair, and restoring operations. This is just a starting point as we wait for more information and evaluate our total losses. We’ll continue to post updates here as we learn more and begin rebuilding.
This is heartbreaking, but we’re committed to coming back—stronger and more determined than ever. We’ve poured everything into creating a space that brings people together through compassionate food, and we’re so grateful for your support during this incredibly difficult time.
With gratitude,
