Help Us Keep Our Dream Alive

When life is no longer safe in Germany…
When we face the greatest challenge of our lives…
When hope and faith chart the way…
…Our personal letter to you…
Quiet Reflections: How much were our daughter's safety and life worth to my wife? How much did the freedom to speak openly, to attend church, and to be part of a democratic society mean to her? How far was she willing to go — for her child, for her family — leaving behind the life she had built? How much pain could she endure — and turn into music on the piano?
She gave everything — and kept nothing for herself.

You should know: Right now, the United States is the only country where freedom, Christianity, and democracy are still alive. Our old homeland — Germany — is no longer what it once was...

The hardship now: The timeline predicted by our attorney back in 2022 for our green cards has been significantly exceeded. The U.S. immigration authorities have been heavily overloaded in recent years, and instead of receiving our green cards by the end of 2024 — as we expected — the waiting has not yet come to an end. Although our immigration petition has been approved, there are still many cases ahead of ours at USCIS that must be processed first. We never expected such a long and difficult delay. Maintaining our lawful status here in the United States is not just important — it is essential for our future, our stability, and our dreams.
At the moment, everything is hanging by a thread. We feel like we’re in a boat caught in stormy waters.
In the worst case, this means for us concretely:
1. In early June 2025, I will lose my status and will no longer be allowed to work..
2. We will lose everything — including the money we already paid (over $250,000) for our home in Bixby.
3. Our daughter, who has been attending an American school for three years, will lose the right to go to an American school — in her case, Bixby School.

Our efforts so far:
1. We filed applications for work permits with USCIS, citing long wait times for green cards and serious financial and family-related reasons — both of our applications were denied.
2. My employer applied for a work visa for me, and USCIS held the lottery for work visas on March 31 — my application was not selected in the lottery (despite a job offer and an approved immigration petition).
3. Many conversations with immigration attorneys and advisors…
Reality can sometimes hit a family with hard blows. Within a very short time, we were confronted with many setbacks.

FAITH changes everything!

And yet faith rises up, looks Goliath straight in the eyes, and says: “You don't stand a chance! My family will live — and proclaim the glory of God!”
Shortly before her 49th birthday, my wife said that she didn’t want anything for her birthday — no gift, no party, not even her favorite cake..
Instead, she scheduled a meeting with an immigration attorney (again) and showed him the business plan she intends to realize in America once she receives her work permit.
She quietly said to me: “There is always a solution. I have to take action.”
A Way Forward, Not Giving Up: My wife has begun the process of changing her status in order to obtain an E-2 visa.
With it, she will finally be able to bring her projects and products for families and children to the U.S. market.
I would receive a work permit through this process as well. Our legal status in the U.S. would be secured, and we could live and work here indefinitely. Our daughter would be able to continue attending school in Bixby.

The Catch?
Every business needs startup capital. In Germany, Nelly had already built a successful business once before, starting with about 35,000 euros.
Here, she cannot simply start. She is from Germany and needs an E-2 visa.
For E-2 business status, USCIS typically expects candidates to have startup capital between $100,000 and $200,000:
  • for marketing campaigns,
  • to create new jobs,
  • for production costs,
  • for packaging and shipping costs,
  • for a website and online store,
  • for licensing fees, and so on.
To start her business in the U.S., Nelly has already prepared inventory and equity worth $50,000. She can document this investment to USCIS. However, according to USCIS, this amount is not sufficient to grant permission to begin business operations in the U.S.
Of course, the costs in America are high.
We came to the United States with hope for a safe and free life. To pursue that dream, we brought everything we had with us. Over the past three years, we have spent more than $400,000 here in the U.S.
  • part of it as a down payment for our new home in Bixby,
  • for our move from Germany,
  • for an old family car,
  • for my tuition fees at ORU,
  • for attorneys, government fees, and general expenses…

Was it all for nothing? — I am certain: No!
According to USCIS requirements, we are still short about $50,000.
We can cover part of it with a loan — using our car as collateral.
But the rest?
Time is running out — we must act quickly. What seems impossible for one person alone can be overcome together with friends and supporters.
Today, after my wife’s birthday, we are launching a fundraising campaign.
A crisis can be a new beginning.
I am asking you to support the launch of “Nelly’s World” — my wife's business in Bixby, Tulsa.
If 300 friends each give Nelly $100 for her birthday,
or 600 friends and supporters each give $50,
or 3,000 people each give $10 —
then the path will be cleared.
If you don’t know us and have questions — feel free to write to us (e-mail: [email redacted])
If you would like to learn more about Nelly’s business plan or the products she has developed for children, families, and everyday life — please reach out!
Thank you for every helping hand that reaches out to us!
We believe: The impossible can become possible. Goliath is not the strongest.
God’s abundant blessings to you and to this wonderful country — America!
