I am in the process of arranging a fun day for a friend of mine whose 4yr old boy has relapsed in his battle with Leukaemia. I really want to raise lots of money so that this beautiful family can make some memories with their boy before it’s too late

Ollie’s story

19th June 2017 Ollie was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML). 

He underwent 6 months of intense chemotherapy. But it wasn’t enough... 

In late October 2017 we had the news that he had relapsed. 

Plans were put in place for Ollie to start chemotherapy again, so he could undergo a bone marrow transplant. This also meant that his siblings (all 3 of them) could be tested to see if they could be a potential bone marrow match. This was a 1 in 4 chance of one of them being a match. 

2 weeks later we got the results. All 3 of them were matches! They chose the eldest and the same sex. Which was his brother Finley. 

March 9th 2018. Ollie underwent his bone marrow transplant donated by his big brother. 

Everything looked good. Ollie’s body accepted it without any complications. 

We reached our 100 days after transplant which is a big milestone. Everything looked good.

He then started to get a blood shot eye, this was going on for weeks. First we thought it was just irritated but his eye ball started to swell. After numerous appointments to ophthalmologist’s and being transferred to different people. They came to the conclusion that it may be his leukaemia coming back but as a mass. 

He was booked in for an MRI scan on 9th July and a biopsy on 10th July. 

After turning up to his MRI and having routine bloods taken we then find out the devastating news that his counts are very high and are very suspicious. 

So the biopsy was cancelled and a bone marrow asprite booked for the following day to test how much cancer was there. 

Not good news... 

It was back!!! 

Our poor boy was going to have to have more chemo. As if he hadn’t been through enough the last year!? 

After speaking to the consultants there was only a few options we could try. And these were not options to cure him...
