Last January Jasif suffered a spinal injury to the point he was unable to walk. This resulted in 3 ER visits, 3 spinal surgeries, 19 days in the hospital and a partially paralyzed leg. Despite the surgeries, the last 10 months he has been in agonizing pain due to scar tissue on his S1 nerve and a completely deteriorated spinal disc that the first 2 surgeries did not resolve. Last week he had a 3rd surgery to remove the scar tissue off his nerve and fuse his discs. The recovery process is a full year and a half, and a lifelong commitment to Physical Therapy.


If you know Jasif, you know he is a kind and humble person who is always willing to help and is very generous. Jasif is a single parent of 2 daughters. The youngest, who lives with him, is on her last year of high-school and recently lost her mother to suicide. In 2013 he beat a death sentence cancer diagnosis, which shows you how resilient he is, however the mass amounts of chemo wreaked havoc on his body. Jasif is a carpenter by trade and has done much for the skate community of Marin county, including volunteering with design and making custom obstacles for skateparks. His artistic passion shines though in all his designs. He is also known for his art and large-scale murals. If you live in the Bay Area you probably have seen something he has built or some of his artwork. He is now faced with not only giving up most of his passions, but also having to change his career and lifestyle to suit his handicap.

Staying in his home is critical for his recovery, and facing eviction is not an option for him and his daughter. We are hoping to raise enough money to get him through this recovery and rehabilitation. He has sold all his assets to keep him and his family afloat (including his beloved truck) and is now tapped out. Insurance covered the surgery but does not cover any of the after care, such as extensive physical therapy and chiropractics. We would love to raise enough to cover those expenses and give him a cushion for his basic living expenses.
