Hi, my name is Mo and I’m from the Netherlands.
Last week, I received a photo from a colleague who was on a work trip in Nador, in the north of Morocco. While walking through the city, he came across a suffering street dog — still alive, but in an incredibly painful state. With only a few hours before his flight, he felt helpless and heartbroken. Not knowing what to do, he reached out to me for help.
Being Moroccan myself, I knew I couldn’t just look the other way. Even from a distance, I began contacting people in the area, trying to find someone who could help. Although the dog hadn’t moved from her spot, it was still hard for people to locate her based on just a photo and location pin. After a long and difficult search, someone finally found her and took her to a veterinary clinic.
When she arrived, she was extremely weak, barely moving, and making soft cries of pain. I knew that in Morocco, vets often can’t treat street animals unless someone pays — so I immediately stepped in to cover the costs.
Now, a few days later, this brave soul is starting to lift her head and trying to eat. The vet says she’s still in critical condition and has a long road to recovery ahead.
But I don’t want to give up on her. Sometimes, as human beings, we have to act — even if it’s not easy. That’s why I started this crowdfunding campaign: to support her continued treatment and, if she recovers, to bring her to the Netherlands where I’ll make sure she finds a safe, loving, forever home.
After so much pain and suffering, I truly believe she deserves a second chance at life.
Thank you for reading, and for any help you can give — no amount is too small.❤️❤️
