Hi, I’m Clare. I’m fundraising for Kumari.

Kumari was our nanny when we lived in Dubai and we’ve stayed in touch ever since, even after returning to our home countries.

She is one of those rare people who goes above and beyond in everything she does. Exuberant, kind, and incredibly hard working, Kumari sponsored herself to work across the Middle East. Every penny she earned was saved with one goal in mind — to build a home for her daughter, her husband, and her elderly mother-in-law.

When Kumari worked with our family, she cared for the children with love and patience. She was always that little bit more helpful than she needed to be. She has spent her life helping others.

Since returning to Sri Lanka, life has become much harder. Kumari’s mother-in-law has suffered multiple strokes, and Kumari is now her full-time carer. Between caring responsibilities and medical bills, she has no chance to take on work. The house she worked so hard to start remains unfinished.

Kumari needs 20 Lakh Sri Lankan Rupees (around £5,000) to complete her home and create a safe, secure place for her family.

How the funds will reach Kumari

As fundraising platforms cannot send money directly to Sri Lanka, I will collect the donations here in the UK. I will then transfer the full amount to Kumari through a trusted international service, ensuring every donation gets to her safely. I will also share updates so you can see the difference your support is making.
