Help the Cairngorms Recover
I’m Charlene, a local resident in the Cairngorms.
Over the past few weeks, I’ve been using my social media to raise awareness of the devastating wildfires affecting our beautiful landscape, and before that, to encourage people to respect the barbecue and campfire bans in an effort to help prevent fires like this from happening.
Now I’d like to do something more.
I’m raising money to support the recovery of the Cairngorms. Right now, the fires are still ongoing, so nobody knows exactly what will be needed once they’re finally out. It could be habitat restoration, wildlife recovery, tree planting, specialist equipment, training, or other projects that help the Cairngorms heal.
One thing I can promise is this:
100% of the money raised will go towards supporting the recovery of the Cairngorms.
I won’t be deciding where the funds go on my own. Once the immediate situation is over, I’ll work with the appropriate organisations, including the Cairngorms National Park and other relevant partners, to identify where the money can have the greatest impact. I’ll document every step of the process so everyone who donates can see exactly where the funds are going and how they’re being used.
This isn’t about me. It’s about protecting a place that means so much to so many people.
I’ll also be organising other fundraising initiatives over the coming weeks, including merchandise and community events, and every penny raised through those efforts will be added to this fund so that together we can make as much of a difference as possible.
Whether you donate £1 or simply share this page, thank you for helping give something back to the Cairngorms.
Together, we can help this incredible place recover.
