On Sunday afternoon, November 3rd, after finishing an event, Tacos Herradura was tragically struck by a reckless drunk driver who was doing donuts on the embankment before losing control and crashing into traffic. Their truck and trailer were hit so hard that they were sent straight into the center divider.

Inside were Rachel, Luis, and their two beautiful daughters , a hardworking family who pour their hearts into their small business to serve our community. All four were taken to separate hospitals to be treated for their injuries. Two of them are still under close medical supervision, with bruised kidneys, sternums, and deep emotional trauma.

The impact caused their trailer doors to burst open, scattering their entire livelihood , food, supplies, and equipment , all across the freeway. Everything they’ve worked so hard for was destroyed in seconds.

By the grace of God, they survived what could have been a fatal accident. But the road ahead will be long. Medical bills, recovery time, and the loss of their business will take months, maybe longer, to recover from.

**El domingo por la tarde, 3 de noviembre, después de terminar un evento, Tacos Herradura fue trágicamente impactado por un conductor ebrio e imprudente que estaba haciendo “donas” en el terraplén antes de perder el control y chocar contra el tráfico. Su camioneta y su traila fueron golpeados con tanta fuerza que fueron enviados directamente hacia el separador central.

Dentro iban Rachel, Luis y sus dos hermosas hijas, una familia trabajadora que pone todo su corazón en su pequeño negocio para servir a nuestra comunidad. Los cuatro fueron llevados a hospitales diferentes para recibir tratamiento por sus heridas. Dos de ellos aún están bajo estricta supervisión médica, con moretones en los riñones, el esternón y un profundo trauma emocional.

El impacto hizo que las puertas del remolque se abrieran de golpe, esparciendo por toda la autopista todo su sustento, comida, suministros y equipo. Todo por lo que habían trabajado tan duro fue destruido en cuestión de segundos.

Por la gracia de Dios, sobrevivieron a lo que pudo haber sido un accidente fatal. Pero el camino por delante será largo. Las facturas médicas, el tiempo de recuperación y la pérdida de su negocio tomarán meses, quizá más, para superarse.
