Together for Stu: Supporting a Warrior's Fight

Donation protected
Hey everyone! I want to share the incredible story of my uncle, Stu, who has shown us what true strength and resilience looks like. Nearly 6 years ago, he was given weeks to live due to Cholangiocarcinoma cancer.
His Daughter was only 15 at the time, we thought he wouldn’t see her 16th Birthday and he celebrated her 21st in November!

He had worked all the way through up until around 2 months ago, he really is an inspiration.

Everyone who knows him says the same - he is the nicest man in the whole world.

But guess what? He defied all odds and beat cancer!

However, his journey didn't end there. Stu had to undergo a major operation, where 45% of his liver was removed in February 2019 despite being told he wouldn't be well enough for the surgery, he once again proved the doctors wrong and became a medical marvel.

For a few years, Stu remained stable, continuing to fight and work. But as time went on, he faced new health challenges. Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham refused a liver transplant due to his complex case. But with the determination of my amazing aunt Hayley, they took his case to the Royal Free in London, for a 2nd opinion - who accepted him.

Last year, Stu received a call for a transplant, but unfortunately, he was deemed too unwell at the time. He didn't give up though. Just before Christmas, another miracle call came, and he underwent an emergency transplant. That first liver rejected after 2 weeks and was lucky enough to be given a 2nd transplant. However, 28 days in he's still critically unwell, and the road to recovery is long. He'll remain in ICU for weeks to months due to complications.

This brings me to why I'm reaching out to all of you. The financial burden on his family is immense. They want to be by Stu's side during this challenging time, Aunty H had to give up her job to look after SuperStu and because its London you can imagine how expensive it is to be there continually to give their love and support. Any funds raised will help alleviate the stress and allow for his family to stay close together, providing the comfort he needs.

Let's rally together and show Stu the massive Liverpool fan that he's not walking alone in this fight. Every donation, big or small, will make a difference. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support and kindness. Together, we can help Stu and our family through this difficult journey.
