Hi, my name is Alia. I currently live in the UK with my family - and I’m fundraising to support families, charities, and small businesses in Sri Lanka who have been devastated by the recent severe flooding. It's currently difficult to support Sri Lanka by going there due to the severe flooding and I wanted to help as much as I can, with this being the only way for me to do so.

Over the past days, entire communities have been submerged under water and mud. Homes have been destroyed, businesses washed away, and many families have lost everything they own, including lives that have sadly been lost. While some areas are receiving support, countless people are still struggling without access to essentials like food, clean water, clothing, and safe shelter.

My family in Sri Lanka are currently helping those around them as much as they can, and through them we are seeing first-hand just how serious the situation is. But the need is far greater than what they can manage alone. That’s why my family and I are raising funds from the UK — to do our part in helping our country, our communities, and the people who have no other support.

All donations will go directly to affected families, trusted local charities, and small businesses that urgently need help to rebuild. Funds will be used for essentials such as food, water, medical supplies, clothing, temporary accommodation, rebuilding houses and to support local livelihoods that have been completely wiped out by the floods.
