Dear friends, family, and community of Ross Adam,
We're reaching out today to ask you to help us support our buddy Ross as he goes through a difficult recovery.
Ross fractured two vertebrae when he crashed on a mountain bike ride on January 24th of this year and has not been able to work for the past 3 months. He's a general contractor/carpenter who relies on his body to earn money. He recently met with a spine surgeon who said that he will need at least 3 more months before his bones are healed enough for him to work, bear weight, exert himself or ride a bike again. In the meantime, he continues to deal with a tremendous amount of pain. Even basic tasks are a struggle. Ross became self-employed last year when he got his contractor’s license, and is not eligible for disability. Like many of us living in this broken healthcare system, he faces large healthcare/insurance costs. He's not able to do what brings him great joy, like riding his bike, and without work or hobbies his mental health has been a struggle.
Can we tap into the power of the collective, of all of us who know him and love him, of those of us who have more and are able to help, to pool our resources to help him get through the next 3 months? His major costs are healthcare (estimated $10,000), rent, food, and transportation/gas. If we can raise $15,000, our support would be life-changing for him. Even if we don't even reach the goal, every bit helps and is so appreciated. Many hands make light work. Let's do this together. Thank you for being part of our community!
