My name is Michelle, and I’m fundraising for my dad, Raymond Carter. He has recently been diagnosed with an aggressive form of lung cancer that is spreading quickly. Our family has been doing everything possible to support him physically, emotionally, and financially, but we’ve reached a point where we need help.

If you know Dad, you’ll know he’s the funniest ,strongest, and most giving person you could ever meet. He never misses a chance to crack a joke and bring laughter into every room he walks into. His humour and warmth have touched so many lives, and we want to do everything we can to keep his light shining for many more years.

Dad has already undergone chemotherapy and immunotherapy here in Australia, and while these treatments did help, the oncology team at Royal Brisbane Hospital have now told us there are no further options available for him through their system. They have recommended palliative care but as a family, we believe there are still ways we can support his health and quality of life beyond what’s currently on offer.

After exhausting local options, we’ve found a clinic called Hope4Cancer in Mexico that offers integrative treatment we believe gives Dad his best chance of healing and improving his quality of life. Unfortunately, the cost of treatment, travel, accommodation, and ongoing care will be over $150,000 ,far more than our family can manage on our own.

This is where we humbly ask for your help. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to giving Dad this opportunity.
