Together for Our Lady of Fair Haven Cathedral

Dear Friends and Supporters,

In partnership with the Dean of the Cathedral, Father Nigel Karam, we reach out to you with a heartfelt request for your support in a vital mission: the preservation of the Our Lady of Fair Haven Cathedral, a cherished Dominican historical landmark located in the heart of Roseau. This beautiful cathedral has been a cornerstone of our community, witnessing countless weddings, christenings, and significant life events for over a century.

In 2012, the diocese embarked on a renovation project aimed at repairing the cathedral's roof. However, since then, additional challenges have emerged, including urgent repairs to the foundation, leaks, termite infestations, and asbestos concerns. While progress has been made, it has been slow due to limited resources and unforeseen delays caused by storms.

As we stand at a crucial juncture in this renovation effort, we are turning to you for support. The most pressing need at this time is the installation of the cathedral ceiling. Our goal is to raise $265,000 to complete this critical phase of the project.

Recently, members of the Dominican Association Relief and Development Association (DARDA) toured the cathedral and met with Father Nigel Karam and Ms. Francine Baron to discuss how we can collectively make a difference. We are proud to have already contributed $10,000 USD towards this effort, but we cannot do it alone. We are reaching out to our friends, family, Dominicans and those who love our beautiful island to join us in this noble cause.

Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to preserving this landmark for future generations. The Our Lady of Fair Haven Cathedral is not just a building; it is a symbol of our shared history and cultural heritage. Together, we can ensure it continues to be a place of worship, celebration, and community connection for many years to come.
