Together for Olivia's Heart, Health, and Hope

My name is Robert VanErp I’m honored to be the father of Olivia VanErp. My daughter has what is called dextrocardia which means mirrored heart which Means her heart is backwards she also has scimitar syndrome which means her lung didn’t develop and her heart turned and is on the right side of her chest. She has had a life of struggles. Having her first open heart surgery at the age of 14 only to find out it didn’t work. And a year later she had a second open heart surgery. Olivia sees a doctor in Minneapolis Minnesota at the University. She is now trying to correct her lung and the fight continues with her heart she had a stent put in in February with no change to her situation. I myself am the only parent in Olivia’s life her mother left us when Olivia was 1 1/2 years old and told me I was on my own. So Olivia, her brother ( two years older than Olivia) and myself were left with the bills. I have kept up on them for the most part. But more are expected. And for a single father with one income. Paying the medical bills and paying for a normal life has been a major struggle. With the money left I pay my other bills. Now the struggle… I bring Olivia to and from her appointments. I’m only able to afford beat up old cars in which I go through plenty each year. I guess I’m hoping to get something more reliable and a little help with other bills and upcoming expenses.
