We lost a beautiful, courageous little girl this week, and our hearts are shattered. As we hold Ruby close during the most unimaginable pain a mother can endure, we are coming together to honor Maya’s life and help lift some of the financial burdens of her funeral and celebration of life.

Hi everyone, my name is Alexandra, and I’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friend Ruby and her precious 10-year-old daughter, Maya.

This week, Ruby’s sweet Maya—who had already fought so bravely—relapsed in her battle with leukemia. She was admitted to Children’s Hospital in New Orleans, where she was surrounded by love until the very end. Maya touched every life she encountered with her light, her laughter, and her incredible spirit. Losing her has left a space that can never be filled.

As Ruby faces every parent’s worst heartbreak, we are asking for help in giving Maya the beautiful farewell she deserves. Any contribution, no matter the amount, will go directly toward her funeral expenses and a celebration of her short but extraordinary life.
