Together for Iris: A Journey of Hope
Donation protected
We are blessed to have Jesus in our lives! We are walking in faith with Him through this journey. We know it won't be easy, but our team at TriHealth, St. Elizabeth, and Cincinnati Children's have been incredibly supportive of our birth plan!
Iris's journey began with complications at conception. Her chromosome 1 broke off and attached to chromosome 17. This means Iris has a genetic condition of chromosome 1 deletion and chromosome 17 duplication. As a result, Iris's heart wasn't healthy, and her brain was severely underdeveloped, missing parts that would help her body function. Her heart was enlarged, but the part that pumps oxygen was extremely small, making it difficult for her to get the oxygen she needed. Iris's lungs are also underdeveloped, which would have caused significant breathing problems. We decided against invasive care, as it wouldn't have changed her condition. Curtis and I didn't want Iris to suffer or experience pain. We are grateful for the time God gave us with Iris, and we cherish every moment! We appreciate the condolences and support during this difficult time.
If you'd like to help, please don't hesitate to reach out, and I can provide our address for cards or contributions.
Thank you for supporting us during this challenging time! We are truly blessed, and we know we will see Iris again! We hope you can see Jesus' love and mission through our story!
