Bravely looking to raise funds while unemployed and disabled. Money will go towards upcoming medical visits, treatments, and surgery.

Illness Ignored: My story begins as a 4 year old having a seizure. I was undiagnosed and unseen by doctors until 17 years old, because having an ailment was shameful in my family.

Scoliosis: Several seizures and falls later, I uncovered my scoliosis (diagnosed). I was told it would get worse, but this went untreated for many years.

Why am I still randomly falling? Why is my gait and walking "off"? How are these tied together? How will an 18 year old find the right doctor and maintain medical insurance on her own? How will I afford the seizure medications? I found a career as an Executive Assistant that would cover the expenses.

Fear of Falling / Ambulaphobia: (undiagnosed) After being a varsity tennis player, dance choreographer, mom, and touring musician - loss in motor skills, ability to complete simple tasks, social anxiety and distress increase every day.

Epilepsy Diagnosed : Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy. Affects speech, balance, gait, coordination, photo-sensitivity. Less work as a performing musician, especially with a noticeable decrease in rhythm/keeping time. Several drug trials and more failures than success.

Together, Wherever Unite: Co-founded this organization in 2020 after being laid off during the height of the pandemic. This community has raised nearly $100,000 for several charities including the Alzheimer's Association, No Kid Hungry, TransLifeline, and other non-profits. Additionally we have come to pay singer-songwriters on a monthly basis with funds raised within the community during virtual shows and now the occasional house concert.
I intend to keep this organization going while undergoing medical treatment and unemployed.

Unemployed & Disabled: The scoliosis worsens. Walking with a cane is intermittent. An unsuccessful steroid injection led to an unsuccessful discectomy. Officially disabled 2 years ago and laid off from work after 3 years of increased pain and sciatica, there is a hip injection to be scheduled and possible reconstructive surgery for my uneven hips - now in a 1 income household.

This is the next beginning.
