Hi, I’m Elisa!
First off, didn’t think I’d ever be writing this, but here we go.
Some of you may know, I embarked on a new chapter in my life in Wisconsin. It was a bold move at the time, leaving behind the familiar and stepping into the unknown, but I was excited to grow and navigate life with my partner by my side.
However, life has a way of throwing unexpected challenges our way. On February 5th, 2025, my world was turned upside down when I was involved in a semi-truck accident. The impact was severe, and while I’m fortunate to have survived, the injuries I sustained left me wheelchair-bound, facing an unpredictable road to recovery.
In the days that followed my release from the hospital, I found myself grappling with the physical and emotional toll of my situation. The transition has been a lot; some days feel heavier than others, and the weight of uncertainty looms over me like a dark cloud. However, I have learned to celebrate the small victories, whether it is gaining a bit more mobility or simply having a good day filled with laughter and love.
In the midst of this recovery, I have been reflecting on the things I love. As a passionate go-getter, this unexpected setback has been difficult to process, but it has also sparked a determination to rediscover joy and motivation.
Throughout this journey, I have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support and love from my family, friends (both near and far), and the community around me. Their kindness and encouragement remind me that I am not alone in this journey.
Each day brings its own challenges, but I am learning to embrace them with an open heart. I am thankful for every step along the way, for the lessons learned, and for the love that surrounds me. As I continue this journey, I hold onto hope and the belief that brighter days are ahead.
All I can say is life is precious and fleeting, so now is the time to cherish and celebrate those special moments.
