Together for Charlie: Surgery, Recovery, and Financial Support
Charlie was recently diagnosed with invasive melanoma behind his right knee. The melanoma is serious and requires urgent treatment. He is undergoing surgery today to remove the cancerous tissue, and will likely need a skin graft to close the wound. They are removing a lymph node in his groin today as well, to analyze it microscopically to determine if the cancer is localized or if it has spread.
After surgery, he will be in an immobilizing leg brace and will work with a physical therapist to make sure he can walk safely and get up and down from a seated position.
While insurance covers some of the cost of his surgery, the out-of-pocket expenses are overwhelming. We need him to focus on healing, not on financial stress.
I’m reaching out to our community to ask for your help. Whether through a donation or by sharing this fundraiser, your support means dad can focus on his recovery. Thank you for your well wishes and prayers. I will update when he gets out of surgery.
With gratitude,
Rae
(Charlie’s daughter)
