Celebrating Michelle — and Supporting the Man Who Loved Her Most
Michelle was the kind of person you don't forget.
Fiercely loyal, warm, and authentically herself in every room she walked into, she had a way of making people feel seen. Whether she was cheering on her beloved Dodgers, losing herself in a book, or working through a crochet project with quiet focus, Michelle brought her whole self to everything she did.
She was well-read and sharp, with a mind for both people and details that served her well in a distinguished career as an Assistant Vice President at CIT Bank, where she worked as a mortgage underwriter.
Her taste in music was as big as her heart. Classical, old standards, new wave, country, she loved it all. She loved the outdoors. She loved her crafts. Most of all, she loved her family.
Michelle and her husband, Charlie, were together for nearly 33 years, married for almost 24 of them. Theirs was a love built over decades, the kind that becomes part of who you are. In December of 2024, they suffered the unimaginable and unexpected loss of their son, Charles Jr. (CJ). And now, after a four-year battle with colon cancer, Charlie has lost Michelle, too.
Fourteen months to the day from the sudden loss of his son, Charlie lost the woman who was his whole world. He is carrying a grief most of us cannot fathom, and he is carrying it alone.
So many people have reached out asking how they can help. This is how.
Every contribution, no matter the size, tells Charlie that Michelle mattered, that Charles Jr. (CJ) mattered, and that he is also remembered, supported, celebrated, and loved.
