Together for Beth: A Community of Strength
Donation protected
My name is Brandy Ferner, and I am part of Team Revolution From Home. Beth Berry and her beloved Asheville community were hit hard by the hurricane, so as her teammate and dear friend, I started this GoFundMe to support her and help her family get through this devastating time after hearing from all of you who reached out to ask if she’s okay and wanting to know how you could help.
Beth is safe. Her daughters are safe. Her partner, Jeremy, is safe, but there's a lot of rebuilding that needs to be done in the weeks to come. I briefly spoke with Beth who called me from a random parking lot that had cell service. She said, “It’s a total disaster but we’re safe. We’re out at Jeremy’s land so we have stream water and propane which is better than most people in town. We have a long road ahead of us but it’s so beautiful to see the community coming together in support. And we are so grateful for the good ‘ol boys with their bobcats and chainsaws and ATVs. Seriously. They’re the heroes right now. I will send reports as we can get back to town from time to time.”
Information is hard to come by, but they don't have power or cell service, nor running water yet, and Beth said there were so many downed power lines that she didn't know if they would have power again for possibly weeks. She also said that landslides are still a concern, so everything is on a moment by moment basis.
As I get more information from Beth, I will update things here. Thank you so much for your concern about her, and for your support.
As you all know, Beth's work is built in a way where she is the business herself, helping mothers navigate the rough seas of motherhood. This storm isn't just devastating for Beth personally, it forces her to pause working for an indeterminate time, which is not only heartbreaking emotionally, but it means that she won't be making money to pay her bills. So this GoFundMe is an attempt to be a bridge during this extremely difficult period so that Beth can get back to providing for her family.
The last thing Beth said to me was that she and Jeremy were going to spend the day helping to dig their neighbors out of the mud and wreckage in their homes. This should come as no surprise to anyone who knows Beth and how open-hearted she is!
