Together for Atoshi’s Journey

We’re writing this as a group of friends who feel incredibly grateful to have someone as
inspiring as Atoshi in our lives—and now, more than ever, we want to show up for her.
Our beautiful friend Atoshi has recently been diagnosed with Extraskeletal Ewing
Sarcoma (EES)—a rare, aggressive, and terminal cancer that has already spread to her
abdominal wall, liver, and lungs. Despite the devastating news, Afia has faced it with grace,
courage, and unwavering faith.
On 23 June, Atoshi underwent emergency surgery to remove a tumour in her small intestine.
Since then, she’s been in and out of hospitals, completing an overwhelming list of tests and
scans—CT, PET, histopathology reports—all while preparing for an intense course of
palliative chemotherapy. Her doctors have started her on a 14-cycle VDC/IE protocol to
slow the disease’s progression and give her the best possible quality of life.
And amidst all this—she submitted her final thesis and completed her Master’s degree in
Architecture, fulfilling her mother’s lifelong dream. We, her friends, are in awe of her
strength, spirit, and the love she continues to pour into the world—even as she fights for her
life. And now, we want to fight with her.
Cancer is cruel, but what makes it even harder is the burden of medical costs, specialised
scans, medications, and the support services she now needs every day. We’re starting
this fundraiser—to help ease the financial pressure and let Atoshi focus on what really
matters: her health, her family, and her moments of peace and comfort.
Every dollar, every prayer, every share makes a difference. Whether it’s $5 or $500—it all
adds up, and it’s all for Atoshi.
We’ll be sharing her journey (with her permission), medical updates, and ways you can
support. If you’re a health professional, a caregiver, or just someone who wants to contribute
love in any form—join us.
