Together for Theresa. Help her kick cancer.

There are those moments in life when you get a small glimpse of someone and just know they are going to be someone so big in your life. Maybe it's their infectious smile. Maybe it's their confidence and no holds barred realness. Maybe it's because she shared her lunch with you and gave you the special olives on her first day of work.

From the first hello Theresa was the bomb. An amazingly strong woman and mother to her beautiful daughter Kayla, she inspires me to be my best and to have fun doing it. A comedian, for real, she used to tour the country and make people laugh, pull issues to the forefront and live life out loud. And she still does, live out loud. Every moment you spend with her you will learn something not only about her but about life and yourself.

You see, Theresa has been such a survivor. After suddenly losing her husband, she and her daughter sold their family home. They packed up, including their little furry family member Fiddle, and moved to Manhattan. Taking care to make the transition to their new life as seamless as possible, this was no easy task and I watched her tackle it like a champ.

Prior to all of that, she had battled cervical cancer. She was just about to pass the ten-year mark as a survivor. We were so elated and thought she was in the clear. But that, unfortunately, is not the case.

This fall (2018) Theresa was at work and experienced a pulmonary embolism and was rushed to the hospital. After running tests, something bigger was going on. She was sent to specialists and diagnosed with stage 3 uterine cancer and stage 3 osteogenic sarcoma bone cancer.

She is now going through the biggest challenge of her life. Battling two cancers at once and keeping her home and family together during it all. Her team of rockstar doctors has pulled together a treatment plan which consists of two rounds of aggressive chemotherapy and major surgeries. All of which are daunting to even imagine let alone the costs and not being able to work for most likely 12 months.

She is going to need our help to lick this thing because cancer is not cheap. Your love, prayers and support are all greatly appreciated. This warrior is in it to win it. And I believe she will! She is such a selfless and generous human being. While she focuses on getting well, I ask all of you to do what you can to make this difficult time financially easier.

Any funds not utilized during her recovery will be donated to cancer-related causes to help others tackling similar challenges.
