Hello, my name is Brian. My fur son, Tofu, was recently diagnosed with Mast Cell Cancer in his front left leg. A lump had appeared on his leg about three weeks ago and was originally diagnosed as a Hematoma. After a week, the swelling grew.  After two more weeks of continued swelling and loss of function, the biopsy results had returned with the diagnosis. After an immediate appointment with an Oncologist, a decision was made. Fortunately, cancer did not spread to the rest of his body, and a swift amputation saved his life. I've had Tofu for about 6/7 years after rescuing him from a local shelter in Sonoma County, California. Tofu is a charismatic, goofy, human-loving bundle of energy with a keen eye for curbside treasures.

 

Tofu will live to see another day(s), but we now face a bumpy road of rehabilitation and new challenges. Surgery was not cheap, as you can imagine. Fortunately, I purchased pet insurance a year ago through my job, which will help alleviate a bit of the cost. The goal today is to raise the remaining $4k from the surgery bill to focus on rehabilitation and other potential expenses.
