Help me I'm fighting Glioblastoma brain cancer.

Hello, I'm Belén Polo, on December 26 I had surgery for a brain tumor.

At that time I was only 16 years old and my parents were told that my operation was high risk, where I would be left with serious consequences, in a vegetative state, or even lose my life.

They could only extract 60% of the tumor

The biopsy indicated that I have a tumor called Glioblastoma grade 4, which is rare in adolescents and the most aggressive of all.

In February I started my chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment in Chile, in the last sessions my mother cries and begs God to please help her to save my life or at least stop the growth of the tumor, in Chile there was nothing more to do , more than conventional treatment did not give us much hope.

We had to travel here to the United States in May to Nicklaus Children's Hospital to undergo a clinical trial in the hope of healing.

But after four months of treatment something failed and the tumor became resistant, now in October I started my chemotherapy and immunotherapy, I really hope and trust in God that this will help me.

But it makes me very sad to be away from my family, my father and my sisters.

I don't know when I will return to my home in Chile.

The only thing I hope is that everything works out since I see and notice my mother's sadness.

I know that Glioblastoma is a very aggressive tumor.

Whoever reads my story, I ask for your help, I need your support, both in prayer and financially since my mother cannot work because she is 100% in my care in the hospital or at home.

The costs that this entire process entails, whether in medications or vitamins, plus rent, food and transportation.

There is simply no pocket that can hold it.

Hola, soy Belén Polo, el día 26 de Diciembre fui operada de un tumor cerebral.

En ese momento tenía solo 16 años y a mis padres le dijeron que mi operación era de alto riesgo, donde quedaría con graves secuelas, en estado vegetal o incluso perdería la vida.

Del tumor sólo pudieron extraer un 60 %

La biopsia nos indico que tengo un tumor llamado Glioblastoma grado 4 es poco frecuente en adolescentes y el más agresivo de todos.

En febrero comencé mi tratamiento de quimioterapia y radioterapia en Chile, en la últimas sesiones mi mamá llora y suplica a Dios que por favor le ayudara para lograr salvar mi vida o por lo menos frenar el crecimiento del tumor, en Chile no había más que hacer, más que el tratamiento convencional no nos dieron muchas esperanzas.

Tuvimos que viajar en el mes de mayo aqui a los EEUU al Hospital Nicklauschildrens a someterme a un ensayo clínico con la esperanza de sanarme.

Pero al cabo de cuatro meses de tratamiento algo fallo y el tumor se hizo resistente, ahora en octubre comencé mi quimioterapia y inmunoterapia, de verdad espero y confío en Dios que esto me ayudará.

Pero me entristece mucho estar lejos de mi familia, mi padre y mis hermanas.

No sé en qué momento volveré a mi hogar en Chile.

Lo único que espero es que todo funcione ya que veo y noto la tristeza de mi mamá.

Se que el Glioblastoma es un tumor muy agresivo.

Quien lea mi historia les pido ayuda, necesito de su apoyo, tanto en oración como en lo económico ya que mi mamá no puede trabajar por estar 100% a mi cuidado en el hospital o en casa.

Los costo que conlleva todo este proceso, ya sea en medicamentos o vitaminas, más renta, comida y transporte.

Simplemente no hay bolsillo que aguante.
