He is my father, Néstor Darío Atencio Vargas, born in Machiques, Zulia State on December 8, 1936.
A good man with a giant heart that makes him very loved by all those around him.
Anyone who knows my dad knows that he is a kind, hard-working, independent person. At 84 he gets up every day to work hard and before the pandemic he even played billiards with his friends 2 times a week.
From a few weeks ago, my dad was having trouble breathing on a day-to-day basis. We decided to take him to the cardiologist for his annual checkup.
His doctor performed the following tests:
- Carotid Doppler
- Echocardiogram
- Holster
- Laboratory tests
Which gave the following diagnosis:
- Moderate carotid disease with a percentage of stenosis of the vascular lumen less than 60%
- Cardiac arrhythmia
- Moderate pulmonary arterial hypertension
- Moderate to severe mitral regurgitation
- Segmental motility disorder of the left ventricular walls.
So it was decided to have a diagnostic catheterization on 06/11/2021 at the Zulia Clinic.
Upon entering the surgery room and beginning the procedure, they found that his carotid artery had 99% obstruction in 4 of its branches.
Angioplasty was performed and 3 stents and a balloon were placed.
During catheterization, it was identified that a branch of the carotid that goes to the brain also has a severe% obstruction, which leaves it prone to suffering a stroke at any time.
A second intervention is necessary in the next few days to prevent this from happening.
The expenses for the first intervention exceed $ 8,000, and the budget for the second round is over $ 12,000.
Today we come to you since these expenses are beyond our possibilities. Today we want you to help us give 10 more years of life to the pillar of our family.
Thank you with all my heart on behalf of my dear mother, sisters, grandchildren and myself.
