On Tuesday, February 18th, our family’s world was turned upside down. We learned that my father, Todd Donaldson, has been diagnosed with chronic heart failure, accompanied by heart enlargement and swelling. His heart is functioning at only 15%, and he may need a left ventricular assist device (LVAD) at any moment. On top of that, his kidneys are only working at 60%. We were also informed that he will be placed on disability, which has added to his distress, as he will no longer be able to drive trucks—his greatest passion another than being a family man. Given his health issues, my parents now need to travel to Riverside for weekly appointments, which adds another layer of challenge. My mom, Alicia, is now the sole provider for the family, which makes things even harder as they await his disability claim to process. There are significant financial burdens ahead, including the cost of gas for the long drives to appointments, utilities, and the essential medications my father requires, which are crucial for his survival.
I’m reaching out to ask for any help to relieve some of the stress on my mother as she juggles being the only income and ensuring my father gets to his appointments and follows his medical instructions. We understand that times are difficult for many, and if you’re unable to contribute, we completely understand.
Please keep them both in your prayers.
For those who are able and want to help, all donations will go towards my father's recovery as it will be a long journey ahead. Your support means the world to us. Thank you!
