Todd McIntyre's Race To Recovery

Donation protected
So for those who don't know my dad (Todd Alan McIntyre) he is probably one of the best and hardest working people on this planet. For those who don't know yet but my father had an accident in Aruba. He went scuba diving once exiting the water, later that day he started having chest pains and checked himself into the hospital. He had suffered a heart attack. The heart attack caused a blood clot in the lower chamber of his heart. Since they were in Aruba they didn't have the proper equipment to give him a Heart Cath to put a stint in. So they had to use a blood thinner to push it out called TPA. The problem with TPA is that it can internal bleeding. Well the worse case scenario happened and the TPA caused internal brain bleeding in the cerebellum of the brain. At this point they had to do emergency brain surgery in Aruba to insert a ventricular shunt to alleviate the pressure in his brain. It had seemed successful but later the blood clot in his brain caused pressure on his brain stem. They moved him to Ft Lauderdale at the cost of $25,000 dollars (which was not covered by insurance). They believed that he would not make it through the flight but my father is a fighter and doesn't give up. They did CT scans here in Ft Lauderdale and decided to remove the blood clot that was causing pressure on the brain stem. The surgery was successful but now we are waiting for him to finish his race and wake up. But now we are waiting for him to be stable enough to move him to Pittsburgh but the flight is very expensive ($35,000) and is going to have to come out of pocket . We are trying to raise $50,000 dollars to help cover the expenses of the flight there and some of the expenses we had to pay out of pocket in Aruba. At his age of 50 years young he has finished over 6 Ironman Triathalons, he just finished his 75th Triathalon to date and has done more that 20+ marathons (including the Boston marathon 6 times). He had a few more goals and one of them is to Race in the Ironman championship in Kona, and I will not let him go until he crosses that finish line no matter what I have to do. He is an incredible athlete. He also was an exceptional servicemen. He did 27 years in the Navy. Starting as an enlisted soldier right out of high school he then went on to be a Warrent Officer, and then Commissioned as an officer and Retired as a Lieutenant Commander. He has accomplished twice as much in his 50 years of life than most people do in there life time. He is also a father of two boys and one girl, Colby McIntyre, Greg McIntyre and Emily Bauman. Also the husband to Karla Mcintyre. My dad is an excellent Father, Husband, Athlete, Hardworker, and Patriot.  He has done everything he could for me he gave me everything  I neededTo be happy and successful in what I do and has supported me and are family in everything we do. Since he did that for me I  will do anything I can to see him fight through this and make a full recovery. Any donation to him will help. You can find him on Facebook: Todd Mcintyre and send kind words or prayers also. His wife Karla Mcintyre. Sons: Colby McIntyre, and Greg Mcintyre. Daughter: Emily Bauman. You can message us or him.
