June 13, 2020 - Out for a motorcycle ride on a beautiful day, and their lives are forever changed. Members of the CMA Motorcycle Chapter, they enjoyed riding as often as possible up until this fateful accident which left them both with injuries. Terri has suffered life-threatening, severe injuries, but has fortunately, over this past year, stabilized enough to now be in a rehab facility. But she wants to go home. With a TBI along with other long-term issues, this is not as easy as signing out and going home. Terri will need help, including caregivers for an unknown period of time. Even with years of rehabilitation, Terri may never be able to return to her level of health prior to the accident and could require nursing care.
All of these are expensive measures, which is one of the reasons why traumatic brain injuries are also some of the most expensive injuries. Costs of care can run into the tens, or even hundreds, of thousands of dollars. This newly married couple has already suffered so much pain! During the pandemic, even being able to see her in the hospital was impossible for way too long. Adding the financial burden is particularly cruel as she struggles to recover enough to go home.
Their faith continues to guide them through but we can help to ease their financial stress at this critical time. Please consider donating to bring Terri home and help aid in the costs of her rehabilitation.
