We HEART Todd Stowe❤️‍

My name is Loginn, I am Todd’s niece. Most of you know his story but in case you missed it.

A few weeks ago, Todd had a major heart attack that he was unaware of. He didn’t feel good for a few weeks so went to the doctor. They did an EKG and told him to go get admitted to NKC hospital. Upon admittance, they found he had a major heart attack and did a heart cath the next day. He was 90-95% occluded (blocked) in all of his major vessels in his heart. They then decided a bypass surgery would be the best next step.

Dr. Downey performed surgery Monday 7/26. There were some major complications during surgery that made his surgery last over 11 hours. The surgeon then told us he had a 50% chance to live and he is very critical. They left his chest open for the next 2 days to give his body time to rest before going back under anesthesia. He was also attached to a IABP (heart pump) that was helping his heart to pump due to how weak it was.

He was stable but still very critical on Tuesday 7/27 and decided as long has he was slowly improving, they would close him on Wednesday 7/28 morning.

They successfully closed his chest Wednesday 7/28 and he is remained stable. They removed his chest tubes and his heart pump on Thursday and Friday. 

Once he was alert and oriented, he was very emotional and confused. Was very hesitant to have family seeing him hooked up to all the machines. He finally was ready for visitors on Friday afternoon! 

On Tuesday 8/2 they are moving him out of the ICU! 

He has made SO MUCH PROGRESS in the past few days and continues to improve. He is literally a walking miracle.
