Todd Hurd Medical Support Fund

On December 21, 2021, Todd Hurd suffered a massive saddle pulmonary embolism while sitting in his living room recliner. Todd had only recently arrived home from the 3.5 hour drive from Muskogee, OK, where he and his wife Lisa planned to move in a few short weeks after completing a full renovation of Lisa’s family home.

Todd was rushed to the ER and went into cardiac arrest three times during admission to the hospital. They had to intubate him almost immediately to stabilize. On Christmas Eve, Todd underwent an extremely high-risk thrombectomy to break up the blood clot that spanned both lungs. Without the procedure, he would have certainly died. Todd went on to have two more cardiac arrests and a myriad of other medical emergencies, including kidney failure, countless blood transfusions, stomach ulcers, multiple intubations, tracheotomy, infections, and more during his month-long stint in ICU.

Todd has since been moved from facility to facility from long-term acute care, skilled nursing, in-patient rehab, and back to skilled nursing. Todd is now starting his 6th month in medical care and needless to say, the cost is piling up. We are asking that you help support Todd and his family during this unimaginably difficult time. These donations will support Todd’s continued nursing home care which comes in at around $5,200 a month, $1,500 per month for Todd’s medical advocate service who stays with him while Lisa, Jordan, and Kelsey cannot be there, as well as the mounting medical bills and credit card debt incurred during this unforeseen catastrophe.

Todd retired in November at age 66. He and Lisa thought they had their entire lives ahead of them, and needless to say, their world has been turned upside down.
Anything you can contribute will be of great help and comfort to Todd, Lisa, Jordan, and Kelsey. Thank you for helping support this amazing family in their time of need.
