Hi my name is Nellie, I am fundraising for my brother in law, Todd, who has severe aortic insufficiency - basically his blood flows backwards when it’s not supposed to and his heart is having trouble pumping his blood through his body. It’s at the stage where he needs to have his aortic valve replaced so he will be getting open heart surgery Thursday morning. It’s a routine but also serious procedure with a pretty long recovery period. If all goes well he will be 2-3 days in the ICU and then another 3-5 days in the hospital. Todd will be out of work for about six weeks. Unfortunately he only has two weeks of PTO and sick pay saved up. They have already paid thousands in co-pays for multiple tests and procedures leading up to his upcoming surgery. I would really like to help alleviate some of the stress for Todd and my sister, Eva.
