Todd Fjeldberg PKD Warrior - EMERGENCY Expenses

Donation protected

Hi, I'm Jacki Stene a good friend of both Todd & Käri Fjeldberg and have watched Todd's health suffer and decline from Polycystic Kidney Disease, PKD, for many years but severely the past 6 years. Todd is in Stage 5 Kidney Failure and has been on Dialysis for a year and there is NO CURRENT CURE FOR POLYCYSTIC KIDNEY DISEASE . To save Todd's life there is only a Kidney Transplant. ANNOUNCING ON OCTOBER 20TH - THROUGH A LIVING DONOR TODD WILL RECEIVE A KIDNEY TRANSPLANT.

The average size of a Kidney is a size of a fist however, both of Todd's are the size of Footballs and his surgeon predicted they each weigh 20 to 25 pounds EACH. It is practiced to attach the Donor Kidney to the Recipients Kidney and it is not often practiced that surgeons' will remove the recipient kidneys however, Todd's are critical enough to his future health not to remove them both. They will also examine/test his Liver the day before surgery to determine if further PKD Damage has occurred to it and will need assistance while doing his DONOR Kidney Transplant.

Todd will be in the hospital up to a week and 3 weeks in the Gift of Life House. Todd has to have a mandatory caregiver and his wife Käri will be by his side. Since Käri is self-employed and hasn't any benefits with her job, she will be without income for that month. They are responsible for all expenses occurring during their stay at the Gift of Life House, transportation, parking, meals, medical bills, medicine, care for their dog and their normal life & monthly home bills. Plus with all Todd's medical bills they have exhausted their funds. Todd will have to be on many expensive anti rejection medications for the rest of his life, but he gets to look forward to a future now.

Anything you can find at the bottom of your tightly woven budget to donate to help Todd & Käri Fjeldberg during this difficult time but an absolute BLESSED GIFT OF LIGHT, HOPE & LIFE . They will be so humbly grateful & appreciative. Thank you taking time to listen to Todd's PKD journey. Please keep them in your continued prayers .

In the past 6 years PKD has given Todd

  • Liver became Septic - due to PKD Tranfering to it. St. Mary's Hospital & a 5 day ICU stay with 4 days short of 1 month in St. Mary's Hospital. Family was instructed to come together and to expect the worst.

  • Distressed Pancreas - sent his Diabetes Glucose up to #1,104. Medical Dr.s assessment agree that his wife, Käri caught him falling into a coma. St. Mary's Hospital stay.

  • Dialysis - 3 times a week. Each treatment is 4 hours on the machine with 30 minutes to be hooked up and 30 minutes to be taken off while Todd holds his sights to clot. A total of 15 hours of missed work a week.
TODD IS BEING BILLED $36,000 for just 1 MONTH DIALYSIS TREATMENT.

PKD - Polycystic Kidney Disease is an inherited disease with Todd's grandfather Fjeldberg passing away from PKD 6 months before the Dialysis machine went public. Todd's Great Aunt, Father & Aunt all have had Kidney transplants with his brothers, uncle, cousins, neice & nephew & now a son have been diagnosed with PKD. Since there is NO CURRENT CURE for PKD they all face future health hazards, kidney failure, dialysis and kidney transplants.
