For all of you who may not know, our best friends, Todd & Chrysti, are in the fight of their lives.

Last year on August 29, before, during and after an Ozz show, Todd was not feeling well and went to get checked out the next day. He had been experiencing some shortness of breath, losing his voice and was severely exhausted. On August 30 their nightmare started when the ER found a lung tumor that had spread to his lymph nodes. A week later he had all test results back and his lung cancer had a name, large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma...stage 3, with pneumonia. It is a very rare cancer and in a tricky location next to his heart and nerve to the vocal cords, so surgery will not be an option. He started and finished a very aggressive treatment plan at MD Anderson earlier this year.

Then last week, Todd was admitted to the hospital with more shortness of breath, an extremely painful cough and just overall feeling terrible. Scans showed a Pleural Effusion which is fluid in the chest cavity compressing the lungs making it difficult to breathe. A chest tube catheter was inserted into the left side so the fluid can be drained daily and the fluid was sent off for testing. The results of the fluid came back positive for cancer cells making this a Malignant Pleural Effusion which moves his cancer to Stage 4. There is no cure, and is considered terminal. They are still awaiting the results of the PET scan, but the brain scan has come back clear. Chrysti is looking into alternative medications and other treatment facilities, as they are not giving up!
