TODD & RENA RAWLINGS

Dear Friends, Recently our pastor, Todd Rawlings, had a severe accident. His right leg was broken completely in two just above the knee, requiring surgery. Todd is in the process of a six month healing journey just to start walking again, and facing physical therapy and an extended full recovery for up to twelve months. At present, he cannot walk, stand, or put any pressure on his knee for a minimum of three months. Between his health and financial constraints, they are looking at a long grueling road ahead. Pastor Todd and Rena are in need of our help! The medical bills alone could add up to quite a bit of money. Ours is a very small church, and not a wealthy congregation, but our fellowship is known by our example of consistently helping others in need. With our very modest annual budget, our Pastor does not receive a housing allowance; he pays for his and his family’s health insurance out of his own pocket (the church is not able to provide financial coverage for this). Due to his being out of commission for several months, he will be taking a salary reduction (from an already low pastor’s income). The Rawlings family is one that daily lives the example of a truly modest and giving lifestyle. Todd has been our pastor for over twelve years, and has been in ministry for nearly 40 years. We have seen Pastor Todd and Rena walk through situation after situation with the utmost character and integrity, living out and exemplifying God’s grace! Throughout the past several years, they have experienced several critical health challenges, to the point where their household saw eight surgeries in 2013 alone. Todd had a heart attack and emergency by-pass surgery, suffering a collapsed lung in the process; then knee replacement surgery, followed by back surgery. In the midst of this, Rena had also received a cancer diagnosis with subsequent treatment and God’s miraculously healing. (All the while, they raised four great kids, three of which are still in school.)
