Toby's New Journey with Paralysis

Donation protected
This is my nephew Toby. He is funny, loving, loyal, and brilliant, and he is a gift to our family! About a week before his high school graduation, Toby suffered a tragic fall from the roof of his family's home, resulting in serious spinal injuries. Toby is now paralyzed from the waist down, and his doctors have said that every indication is that the paralysis will be permanent. Over the last month, Toby has undergone 2 difficult and extensive surgeries, as well as intensive rehab, to adjust to the new hurdles he is facing. My sister and her husband, along with Toby's four siblings, are working hard to adapt every area of their lives to support Toby. He is still very much in the healing process, but we are looking forward as well and want to equip him with every resource he needs to learn how to thrive in his new circumstances. Now that Toby is home and readjusting to his daily life, his family is faced with huge medical bills, major changes to their way of life, ongoing therapies and treatment, as well as the mental and emotional processing that each family member is working through. In addition, his family home requires a significant renovation to create a bedroom and bathroom that is wheelchair accessible and equipped for Toby's needs.

Would you please help us raise money for the mobility and medical needs that Toby has on this new journey? One of the big ticket items will be a vehicle that is adapted for Toby so that he has consistent transportation, and we hope that he will eventually be ready to drive independently. Any additional funds will help with medical expenses to support Toby and his family as they work through numerous challenges and changes. We are all committed to helping Toby work towards mobility and independence as the strong and capable young man he is! We are so proud of Toby's courage and his determination to overcome the challenges this injury has placed in front of him. We're also incredibly grateful that Toby and his family have many people around them helping to support them, but their financial needs right now are daunting. Toby's family is prioritizing Toby's mental and emotional recovery as highly as his physical recovery, and part of that recovery process means helping Toby work towards independent living! Please help us raise the money to ensure that Toby has a vehicle that will allow him to live an active and independent life, and that will help his family provide the best possible resources and care for him!
