Hello - I’m Rosie and I’m writing this on behalf of my bestie Toby.

In very exciting news, Toby has been approved for top surgery and has it booked! In less exciting news, Toby now has to pay for top surgery.

Due to the enormous waiting time for this treatment on the NHS, going private is the only option, and that’s enormously expensive. Toby, understandably, finds it awkward to ask for your cash - but I do not!

I can think of few people more deserving than Toby; he is one of the kindest friends a person could wish for. He is an artist, a cat guru, a fine baker, and Cornwall’s second best export after the pasty. Knowing Toby throughout his transition has been a privilege as I have got to witness a person fully become themself. Receiving gender affirming care has made a very visible difference to his happiness (and hairiness) and this will be another huge step in that direction. Quite frankly, his body is not always on his side (thanks, osteoarthritis!) and he deserves something nice, like major surgery.

A great way to support trans people is, of course, to pay for the treatment denied to them by an underfunded NHS, but also to publicly express that support for them by, say, sticking to your water bottle a trans flag sticker designed by a trans artist , all of the profits of which go to this fundraiser.

Surgery costs are £10,600 and he has a date booked in September.
