Hello, my name is Alexis Morgan. I am 19 years old, and this is my dog Toby. Two days ago, he slipped between me as I was going outside and ran into ongoing traffic, and got hit by two cars that were going up to 45 miles per hour. After the incident, as my sister and I were frantically looking for him, he darted back home. His leg was hanging off and there was blood everywhere. I immediately rushed him to the animal hospital, and we found out he had completely broken his right paw right above the joint. His left paw bed is completely torn off and exposed. We also found out that his heart is slanted more to the left-hand side due to the impact, and he has an abrasion on his liver. We either had to amputate his paw or get surgery done. He is only a year and a half, so I decided to save his leg so there wouldn’t be any long-term effects with him learning how to re-walk. For right now, they have a cast on him, but we are waiting for his surgery to come, which is this Monday, October 6th. He is currently on 8 different medications, and I am financially struggling to afford the surgery, constant re-ups on his medication, as well as soon-to-be follow-ups with his primary afterwards to make sure he is healing well. Anything would genuinely help more than any of you know. Even just a simple prayer. He is my whole world, and I would be destroyed if anything else happens to him. Thank you so much!
